Were honoured to be presenting the debut European performance by Troy Kingi this August.
A multi-genre musician, Troy Kingi rose to fame after the release of his first two multi-award-winning albums”Guitar Party at Uncles Bach” and”Shake That Skinny Ass All the Way to Zygertron”, along with memorable major acting roles in Kiwi films including”Hunt For The Wilderpeople”,”The Pā Boys”,”Mt Zion” and”The Breaker Upperers”.
Over and above his love for acting, Kingi”s passion for music has led to a successful and ever-expanding artistic career, with his current focus the 10/10/10 series – ten albums, in ten genres, over ten years. So far Troy has travelled through blues, deep roots, psychedelic soul, funk, folk and 80″s, with his audience lovingly followinghim on this journey, never knowing what the next release will bring but still avidly collecting all formats of the releases and attending the many & varied shows.
With one album left to complete in the series, Kingi has created a discography ambitious in scale and significance in its contribution to Aotearoa”s rich musical history.
