THE PACIFIC TAVERN :: SWEET SOUNDS :: 10/05/26

This year, New Zealand takes centre stage as the focus country at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

To celebrate, we’re teaming up with The Pacific Tavern, Outward Sound and Kiwis in London to present a special one-day showcase of some of the artists heading to the festival.

On Sunday 10th May, catch live sets from Hemi Hemingway, Jude Kelly, Ringlets and Vera Ellen plus the London-based Charli Herbert and Passion LC.

It’s a rare chance to see some of New Zealand’s most exciting talent up close before they take on Brighton.

Free entry all day : just turn up.

From: 4-10pm
At: 100 Redriff Road, SE16 7LH
Nearest Tube: Surrey Quays

HOPE & ANCHOR :: HALF/TIME :: 19/05/26

Emerging from research on the ideological crossovers of te ao Māori and punk culture, HALF/TIME encompasses the personal and political, amplifying the ancestral echoes of Aotearoa and giving voice to the injustices faced by indigenous peoples today.

Since taking shape as a three-piece in 2023, HALF/TIME have opened for bands such as Idles, Big Brave and Dream Wife, plus released Black Union Jack (The Vault Sessions) in November 2023 to critical acclaim. Spanning dystopian industrial hardcore, Moanasurf and reclamation balladry, the EP translated seven of Wairehu’s waiata from their original home-studio hard drive forms into the live trio vernacular:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QrOwsQEy_c

Support on the night comes fromLEAO, a Samoan musical project formed up of guitarist/vocalist David Feauai-Afaese, bassist Navakatoa Tekela-Pule, steel guitarist Levi Gemmell and drummer Rāhana Tito-Taylor. With a deep adoration for the Pacific musical reference and a desire to contribute contemporary musical ideas, LEAO synthesises non-traditional tonalities with a fa’asamoa spirit, creating what some have called ‘Niu Wave’ and ‘Pacific neo-psychedelia” music.
