THE PRINCE OF WALES :: HOLLIE SMITH :: 11/07/14

This Friday we welcome back the amazing Hollie Smith. One of the finest singer songwriters in NZ, possessing a voice of great range and depth, Hollie burst onto the local music scene back in 2006, courtesy of her contribution to the film No.2. “Bathe in The River’ topped the NZ charts and has became one of the biggest selling and most iconic singles in NZ history.

Before then she had worked with numerous bands including Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Detroit dance legend Recloose, and she showed her diversity on her debut album ‘Long Player’, which went straight to number 1 on the charts as well as winning her several NZ music awards. Her follow up album ‘Humour and the Misfortune of Others’ also hit number 1, receiving rave reviews, numerous award nominations and sell out tours. Since then she has released two collaborative albums: ‘Band Of Brothers’ with Electric Wire Hustle’s MaraTK and ‘Peace of Mind’ with Anika Moa and Boh Runga.

Support on the night comes from the amazing Mara Simpson – check her out on YouTube.

Two guys, two guitars, crazy good vocals and a blend of soul, roots and rock – you’d struggle to find two more talented guys. Tiki’s obviously a household name back in New Zealand while Jayson’s been building his London repuation for the last 10 years, with his shows at The Chatsworth, Vesbar and Homelanz. On their own they’ll own any crowd, together they’re out of this world.
