o2 EMPIRE :: SHAPESHIFTER :: 13/05/11

The mighty Shapeshifter are back for another round, and as per usual, it looks like this night will be a roadblock session: the ground floor has already sold out!

Fresh from the biggest selling summer tour in NZ and the success of their debut Sacred Hill festival, the Shifters have just released a bevy of remixes of tracks from “The System is a Vampire”. To promote this, they are popping over for a very quick UK tour before heading into the studio to write their fifth album.

Supporting them on the night will be the incomparable first lady of NZ hip hop, Ladi6, with help from her right hand men, Parks and Julien Dyne.

Advance tickets are available for £17.50 + booking fee from Ticketweb.co.uk (08700 600 100) – direct link is http://tinyurl.com/49x6c2

From: 7pm til 11pm
At: Shepherd’s Bush Green, W12
Nearest tube: Shepherd’s Bush or Goldhawk Rd

MINUIT COMPETITION

It was clear electro-pop trio Minuit had both a dark sense of humour and a facility with words when they titled their most recent album “Find Me Before I Die A Lonely Death dot com”! And both qualities are present in spades in a book of poems, lyrics and short stories by Minuit’s lead singer Ruth Carr: ‘I Felt Like A Fight, Alright?’. It is available online from minuit.bigcartel.com but we have three digital PDF copies to win…….. The first people to email us at kiaora@spacific.net with the names of the two other members will win.

In other Miniuit news, they are donating all proceeds from various remixes of their tracks to the Earthquake Appeal: go to minuit.bandcamp.com for more details.
