CARGO :: PITCH BLACK :: 24/07/08
Since their inaugural show at The Gathering back in 1997, Pitch Black have blazed a trail of warped woofers and twisted tweeters worldwide. Their original dark, dubby, almost techno, sound has evolved to incorporate breakbeats and down beats and has found them fans across the globe, especially in America and Japan.
They make a welcome return to London for a one off show this summer, in between supporting the Easy Dub All Stars in Croatia and representing NZ at an international film festival in Poland. Supporting them on the night is the equally unclassifiable Tom Cosm and DJ Horace.
If you want to check out some of their newer material, you can download for FREE two live tracks from their last album from www.pitchblack.co.nz/livetrack.
*For all the tech heads out there, the boys will be running an Ableton live workshop before the gig – more info at www.eu.cosm.co.nz.*
Advance tickets: £9 from Ticketweb (08700 600 100) or £12 on the door.
From 7.30pm til 1am
On: 83 Rivington Street, EC2A 3AY
Nearest tubes: Liverpool Street or Old Street

TOAST :: WIN VIP PASSES
We have a pair of VIP Passes to this year’s Toast Festival to give away. Being held on September 27 at Kensington Olympia, this year’s event features Supergroove’s first gig outside of New Zealand since reforming – with Che Fu back in the mix, the band should be as charismatic and energetic as ever. All this plus former All Blacks, cultural performers, more bands, a Sports Zone and almost 100 New Zealand wines to buy by the glass or sample size.
The VIP Passes offer fast track entry into the event, plus on arrival to the VIP enclosure you will receive bubbly, wine, beer and canapés, all based on the gallery level looking over the event. To win the pair, please tell us (email kiaora@spacific.net) which airline sponsors Toast – we will choose the winner on Monday 14th July and email them then.
If you aren’t lucky enough to win, then the nice people at Toast have put a special deal up for you: 4 tickets for the price of 3 by quoting SPAC (a saving of £7.50/ticket). This promotion is for the month of July only and to book call 0871 230 7143 or visit www.toastfestivals.co.uk
