The first lady of New Zealand hip hop will be performing a short live PA this Wednesday at about 9.15pm, ably supported by DJ Killamanraro. As well as her work as part of Sheelaroc and Verse Two , Ladi6 has provided stunning vocals for some of Aotearoa’s finest acts, including Shapeshifter, Scribe, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Solaa and 50 Hz. Her debut, Mu produced album will drop later this year.

NEIGHBOURHOOD :: THE THIN MEN + THE MOTORS :: 15/06/06

The second in our series of co-promotions with Neighbourhood is the launch party for The Thin Men’s “Arena” album. Formerly known as El Hula, the highly lauded Thin Men are rich in Southern gothic melodrama and countrified drama. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thethinmen2. Also playing live will be Wellington’s The Motors plus Reuben Sutherland will spin some discs.

NEIGHBOURHOOD :: NATHAN HAINES :: 25/06/06

This will be Nathan’s first proper full band show in London for nearly two years, and on the strength of the gigs they played in New Zealand earlier this year, it will be a blinder!

He has built a veritable supergroup with Mike Patto and Vanessa Freeman of Reel People providing keys and vocals, “Level-Neville” Malcolm of Incognito on bass, the amazing Daniel Crosby on drums plus New York resident Tama Waipara on vocals. DJing before and after will be special guest Phil Asher of Inspiration Information.

Hamiltron’s finest bring their mighty roots reggae sound to Babylondon for the first time. Famous for their epic live shows, they will be bringing with them copies of their new project, “Homegrown Dub”, a sterling collection of remixes of tracks from “Revival” and “Slow Burning”.
