A double whammy for you this month: not only the London debut of the prolific producer The Nomad but also a live PA by Christchuch born, Bristol based MC Tali.
The Nomad has been releasing quality dub influenced tracks since 1998, and has worked with Salmonella Dub, Fat Freddys Drop, OG, and Pepsi of Pepsi & Shirley (Wham’s old backing singers!). His live set is a journey through the genres (not as naff as it sounds … honest!), stepping up from deep dubs to bass heavy breakbeats. For more info, check
Tali has found fame and fortune with Roni Size’s Full Cycle crew after a chance encounter at a club in Melbourne. Her tunes “Lyric on my lip” and “Blazin'” have become drum’n’bass anthems and anyone who has seen her live knows that this girl rocks! For more info, check

We kick off with phat beats and hip hop from Steve Usha before a short live set by the riotous husband and wife team Sweet Mayhem – live guitars, filthy beats and outrageous costumes! We end with the fabulous Flic and her trademark blend of funk, soul, house, broken beats, hip hop and more. We are still negotiating drinks deals and hope to have loads of specials on the night. After all it is Christmas!!

Live: Sweet Mayhem

Finally our website will go up on Friday 12th November after months of dithering and many false starts. It is still very much unfinished but at least it is better than it was!
At the moment there is information on our forthcoming events, a calendar of gigs in England by New Zealand artists and DJs, biographies of artists, DJs and labels, CD reviews, articles on New Zealand culture and some cocktail recipes!
We intend to add a forum, an online store and media facilities over the next few months, plus tweak the existing content.
Any feedback you may have would be much appreciated, as would contributions of content. Just email us at

We send an email like this one at the beginning of every month (or thereabouts), with information about forthcoming events of note (and a cocktail recipe or two!).
We have your email address in our database as either you have (a) subscribed to our mailing list or (b) purchased tickets to one of our events or (c) entered a competition to win tickets to one of our events.
If for any reason at all you would not like to receive any more communications from us, please reply with “remove” in the subject line.
We promise not to give your contact details to any other promoters or companies, and hope to keep our mailouts to the absolute minimum. We will only email you mid month if radical changes occur or something spectacular comes up.
